Online/Mobile Giving Frequently Asked Questions
Is it safe to give online?
It is as safe as giving a paper check or cash, and safer in some ways as online transactions cannot be lost or stolen. As with any other online accounts you maintain, you should always follow safe computing practices which include keeping your login username and password in a secure location, making sure up-to-date virus software and an updated operating system are running on the computer being used to access your account.
What types of accounts can I give from?
You can give from a checking account, savings account, debit, or credit card.
Are there fees involved with online giving?
Not for you, but the church pays a fee for each transaction. The fees are smallest for giving done via checking and saving accounts and highest for rewards credit cards. The largest fees involve correcting mistakes (routing or account number is entered incorrectly, etc), so please be sure to double check your numbers.
If there are fees, why is online giving an option?
There are fees for processing paper checks too (though significantly smaller), and the advantages for adding this option outweigh the disadvantages.
What are the advantages?
Many people in our society use electronic banking for most or all of their financial transactions, so online giving opens a channel for some people who won’t or can’t give in other ways. Enabling this option allows contributors to login to RVCC Connect and periodically review or verify their contribution history as needed. This also allows contributors to set up their routine contributions to happen automatically, if they wish. Contribution schedules are defined and maintained by the contributor. As is probably true for your household, budgeting and financial planning are easier when income is steady from month to month. It is also true for the church. Of course, every household's situation is unique, so prayerfully choose a contribution schedule or option that works best for you and your family.

Yes, you can make a one-time contribution.
Do I have to have a mobile phone to use Pushpay?
No, only to use the Pushpay app. You can set up online giving through your computer by going to
pushpay.com/pay/rainierview/recurring. Normally, there is a point in the setup where Pushpay texts a confirmation code, but they have provided this workaround for those who can't receive a text:

- Put your a phone number where you can receive a call in the "mobile phone" box on page 1.
- After you complete the steps on page 2, the system will prompt you to confirm your phone number and set a password for the Pushpay account.
- There is a check box below the phone number field that says "I can't received SMS messages, please call me instead."
- After pressing "Next," the system will call and give you a code to enter on the next page.
If I want to set-up a recurring gift, what are my options for frequency of my gift?
The options for recurring gifts are to repeat every # of days, weeks, months, or years. You will also choose the date on which the gift will begin (and repeat). If you want to set a repeating gift for twice a month, you will need to set up two separate recurring gifts.
When will contributions be deducted from my account?
Transactions typically clear the contributor’s bank within two banking days.
Can I change my information once I’ve submitted the form?
Yes, the setup can be changed any time just by logging in to Pushpay and changing the options that you have set up.
Can I review my giving history online?
Yes. Your giving history will be imported into RVCC Connect and by logging in, you can review your giving history and print a giving statement at any time. If you are the head or the spouse of a household, you will see all of the giving attributed to the members of your household. If you are any member of the household other than the head of household or spouse, you will only see your own giving.
Will I receive an annual contribution statement from the church?
No. The church does not print or mail annual contribution statements except for those who are unable to do so themselves and have requested a printed statement. You can log in to RVCC Connect at any time to print a statement, including for tax purposes.
Can I designate my gift to a particular area?
Yes, you will be able to designate your gift to apply to one of the following areas: General Fund, Gig Harbor Church Plant, Benevolence, or Missions.
