Short-Term Serve Opportunities
January 17-28, 2019
A team from RVCC will be going to Lautaro, Chile in January 2019, continuing a relationship that is has been established over the past dozen years. The Lautaro church is sponsored by IberoAmerican Ministries (IAM), a ministry that RVCC has partnered with for nearly thirty years. We have assisted with building the church and a school which is nearing completion. In 2018 a team worked on the home of the family who are caretakers for the church. We've also participated through the years in various projects in the area to support the indigenous Mapuche people.
This team is now complete, but would love your prayers as they continue to prepare to serve in Chile.

Since 1995 , members of Rainier View Christian Church have been traveling to San Vicente, Baja, Mexico to serve. San Vicente is located 120 miles south of the US/Mexican border at San Diego. The ministries we work with include:
This trip will likely include physical labor (construction, painting, digging, etc.), quality time with children, teens, and their moms, participating in children's, women's, and men's Bible studies, feeding children at migrant camps, and much more. Housing is in dorms with meals prepared by local partners in ministry.

This unique trip allows RVCC adults and young adults to serve alongside one another. You will get a chance to serve others as you develop life-long memories of your shared service and transformative experience. The project includes drilling a well, providing important health lessons, and sharing your faith. More than that, it is about demonstrating love for others. Many will say they do not care about your faith until they see your faith in action and experience your love firsthand. This trip does just that. This RVCC team will partner with Living Water International, which seeks to share water and the Word with those who are thirsty (see John 4:14). Together, we bring the living water to a community in El Salvador.
Cost: The per person price is $2,041 per person, for a total of $4,082 per family (parent + young adult). This includes airfare, all accommodations, all meals in country, transportation, training in English, insurance through LWI, and community hygiene supplies.
Fundraising Opportunities: Note that the Missions Committee graciously offers an opportunity for a $500 youth scholarship, which helps substantially. Further, personal fundraising opportunities will be available, including a page you can create on the Living Water International site to share with family and friends and to which they can donate towards the cost of your trip. Group fundraising activities may also be possible if the group is interested in collaboration in fundraising events. In the past, families fundraised $3,000-4,082, substantially reducing their personal family cost. While there are no guarantees, focused effort certainly can pay off in fundraising.

One of our long term mission partners, Taking Christ to Millions (TCM) International, has asked us to provide them a team of six persons to serve at their European headquarters, Haus Edelweiss, near Vienna Austria. TCM conducts numerous ministry classes taught by well-known professors throughout the U.S.A. and Europe, training Christian leaders from around the world. The ministry team from RVCC will be serving students and staff. The team will consist of six people, age 21 or older (or 18-21 with responsible adult). We will update this page as more information becomes available. Email email@example.com if you have questions.
Cost: Airfare will be $1500-$2000 including trip insurance, plus any personal expenses. TCM covers our food and housing while we are there.
