Christmas FAQs
We will have nursery available for kids birth through 35 months. Older kids are encouraged to join their families for the Christmas Eve Service. We will provide activity kits for preschool and elementary aged kids. We also have a Family Lounge available, with live streaming of the service, for parents who may want a comfortable place to step out with kids that need a break.
You may want to arrive at least 5-10 minutes before service begins so you have time to get a cup of coffee and find a seat. Allow a few extra minutes if you are checking children into the nursery for the first time or if you'd like to take advantage of one of the photo backgrounds to get a picture with your family.
This service will have a casual and informal atmosphere. It will last about an hour and involve music, communion, and a talk on faith by one of our pastors. The talk is rooted in Biblical teaching geared for personal application. Worship is upbeat and contemporary, led by a worship band. Communion is open to all followers of Christ, but if you are not at that point in your faith journey, please don’t feel any pressure to participate. The service will end with a candlelight moment, with glowsticks for the kids.
Yes, you can watch a prerecorded service online at 4:30pm at live.rainierview.org. The online service includes the message, worship, and interactive chat with a host and other attendees.
We are a casual church. Don't feel pressured to dress a certain way or feel like you will stand out in the crowd. Even on Christmas, you will see a range of dress styles from jeans and t-shirts, to sport jackets and dresses. Come dressed however you are comfortable, and you will fit right in.
Once you arrive, head to the Welcome Center, or look for one of our staff or volunteers, wearing an RVCC lanyard. They will be more than happy to answer questions, help you find the nursery for your children, and even escort you to where you need to go.
Tahoma, our partner church, will be celebrating Christmas with a Spanish-speaking service on Sunday, December 22 at 10:30am at RVCC Parkland.
