WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU VISIT IN PERSON
We want you to feel comfortable when you visit us so below are some questions that you may have as you plan your visit. Don’t hesitate to contact us or to ask for assistance upon your arrival.
All of our worship services have a casual and informal atmosphere. Services last about an hour and involve music, communion and a talk on faith by one of our pastors. The talk is rooted in Biblical teaching geared for personal application. Worship is upbeat and contemporary, led by a worship band. Communion is open to all followers of Christ, but if you are not at that point in your faith journey, please don’t feel any pressure to participate.
We are a casual church. Don't feel pressured to dress a certain way or feel like you will stand out in the crowd. You will find a range of dress styles from jeans and t-shirts, to shorts and flip-flops, to an occasional sport jacket and dress. So come dressed however you are comfortable and you will fit right in.
If you own a Bible you will want to bring it. Our pastors don’t preach sermons as much as they simply teach the Bible. They will refer to it often – and even encourage you to mark it up as your life-textbook. If you don’t have one, just ask one of the hosts or ushers, we have plenty set aside to borrow until you get one of your own. Our pastors teach from what is known as the New International Version Bible (NIV). If you have another version you are used to or prefer, bring it along. The differences from version to version are mostly minor. Having an NIV will simply make it easier to follow along when our pastors read or point out the wording in a particular verse or passage.
Definitely, we are in Washington. Our physical locations have coffee stations set up outside of the worship center. Feel free to grab a cup of coffee and bring it into the service. You're also welcome to bring your own.
We have children’s programs available at both of our physical locations.

We work hard to create fun and safe environments for our kids. All volunteers go through background checks and receive excellent training. To find the appropriate classroom for your children, head to the check-in desk upon arrival. You can’t miss it. Our team of dedicated volunteers will escort you and your children to their classrooms.
We also have programming for middle and high school students each week. Visit rainierview.org/students for more information.
Of course! You are more than welcome to keep your child with you. We actually love having kids in service and think that's a valuable part of teaching them about life in the church. We also have a Family Lounge available, with live streaming of the service, for parents who may want a comfortable place to step out with kids that need a break.
Once you arrive, head to the Welcome Center, or look for one of our staff or volunteers, wearing an RVCC lanyard. They will be more than happy to answer questions, help you find the right classrooms for your children, and even escort you to where you need to go.
